ZPL em PDF vs LabelZoom

LabelZoom covers both directions — ZPL to PDF/PNG and, its headline feature, PDF/image to ZPL with OCR — backed by an enterprise-grade API. Free usage, however, ships with a watermark. ZPL em PDF attacks the most common case (viewing and converting ZPL) for free, watermark-free, and without uploading your files.

Where LabelZoom is strong

PDF/image → ZPL with OCR and layout analysis is their real technical differentiator: it reconstructs text, barcodes, lines and boxes as native ZPL elements, not a pasted bitmap.

API operations are enterprise-grade — high SLAs, latency-based routing, zero retention on Pro and Business — and the UI is localized in 7 languages, including pt-BR.

Where ZPL em PDF wins

No watermark: free conversions come out clean and print-ready — LabelZoom's free output is marked.

Privacy by construction: in-browser rendering on every use, not as a paid-plan feature. Worth reading their own table: retention only goes to zero from Pro; on Free and Basic it is indefinite.

Live: the label updates on every change, with no convert button, and the whole site is built around the Brazilian marketplace flow.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is LabelZoom free?

The web tools are free with no stated cap, but output carries a LabelZoom watermark. Removing it starts at Basic (US$5/month); production API use starts at Pro (US$20/month). Here, output is always clean and free.

What about PDF to ZPL?

Both do, with different approaches. Here the conversion runs in your browser (the PDF is never uploaded) and the label becomes a high-resolution graphic (^GF) — ideal for printing a carrier's PDF label on a thermal printer. LabelZoom uses server-side OCR to rebuild text and barcodes as native ZPL elements, which is better if you want to edit the result.

Which one has a Portuguese UI?

Both — LabelZoom localizes into 7 languages including pt-BR. The difference here is the model: no watermark, no account, and no upload of your files.

How long do they keep my files?

LabelZoom's plans table lists indefinite retention on Free and Basic, and no retention on Pro and Business. Here the question doesn't apply: the file is never sent.
